How to Run Your Business Like a Marathon: Achieve Focus, Discipline, and Global Success
Important goals in life are regularly achieved with proper focus and discipline. When we see athletes reaching the Olympics, teams participating in the World Cup, or friends completing a marathon, we admire them.
But what do these individuals and a company have in common? They are all running the 26-mile race. Only 0.5% of the total U.S. population has completed a marathon. When someone trains for a marathon, they know it takes more than skill and physical fitness. In fact, determination and daily discipline are key to reaching the finish line.
Similarly, a business aiming for global success needs discipline and commitment to get results.
How did our company achieve focus and discipline for this race?
- We understood that we couldn’t do it alone. Therefore, we accepted the guidance and inspiration of successful leaders and adopted them as mentors.
- We shared our vision with other companies in our category. As a result, we created alliances that make us stronger in our offering to the customer.
- We focused on one target group at a time. By doing so, we designed a unique product that solves a pressing problem on their priority list.
- We established internal processes and a strong company culture to deliver a high-quality product in every customer interaction. Consequently, our service improved, and customer satisfaction increased.
- We behaved consistently every day in line with our message. Moreover, we made sure our communication and actions reinforced our brand identity.
- We went out to sell our product every single day. Ultimately, this helped us build strong customer relationships and drive steady growth.
At Strategic Minds, we run the race as a team. Some of us dream, others document, and some focus on results. Working together, we have reached places that would have taken much longer alone. Each day, we celebrate one more mile toward our goal. Like good runners, we stay disciplined and innovative, while keeping a clear focus on bringing a bit of Puerto Rico to the world.
